Legendary designer Jean Paul Gaultier had no formal fashion education to boast of.  He established himself in the 70s and 80s as the “enfant terrible" of French fashion.  With a seemingly endless creative output, his impact in the fashion world is unforgettable and essential— he played with gender roles, adorning men in skirts decades before others opted to, and allowed plus sized women and older men to grace his runways. His talent was undeniable, though his utilization of such gifts made him a an intuitively divisive designer. The subversive figure used many forward-thinking icons in his runway shows, including Madonna and Marilyn Manson, both whom he conceptualized tour wardrobes for.  This elegant timeless Jean Paul Gaultier suiting set from the 1990's is a great addition to any collection.  The blazer has a tied synched side ruffling the fabric into a sculptural form.  The skirt is maxi length.  A beautiful set from the 1990's runway.
